The Mississippi State Bulldogs defeated the 21st ranked Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 17-12 on Saturday.

Commentary: Mississippi State used a bruising defense to overcome the Tide for the second year in a row and grant the team bowl eligibility. A huge 100 yard interception return for a touchdown by the Bulldogs Anthony Johnson toward the end of the first half gave head coach Sylvester Croom's bunch a lead that they would never relinquish in the contest.

It was a huge victory for the Bulldogs and their second over an Alabama based team in 2007 (the team defeated the Auburn Tigers earlier this season).
