Returning from a sprained ankle, freshman Hokie quarterback Tyrod Taylor racked up 205 passing yards and 91 rushing yards along with two touchdown passes and one scoring run to lead 11th-ranked Virginia Tech over Florida State 40-21 in Blacksburg.

Down 21-20 at the end of the third quarter, the Hokies went on a scoring spree that included Taylor's 3-yard rushing touchdown, his two-point conversion pass to Zach Luckett, a 22-yard Jud Dunlevy field goal, an interception return for a score by defensive end Chris Ellis, and a sack of Seminole quarterback D'Vontrey Richardson in the end zone for a safety.

Commentary: Virginia Tech is clearly the most powerful team in the ACC's Coastal Division, arguably in the entire conference. The way the Hokies look now, it won't be surprising to see them destroy 19th-ranked Virginia and go on to represent the Coastal Division in the title game, given the Cavaliers have not looked dominant at all in spite of all their (close) wins.
