The LSU Tigers defeated the Mississippi Rebels by a score of 41-24 on Saturday to keep their national title hopes a reality.

Commentary: Trindon Holliday's 98 yard kickoff return for a touchdown and two forced first half turnovers on goal-line stands helped the Tigers to win another game in the SEC against Ed Orgeron's Mississippi Rebels.

Mississippi quarterback Brent Schaeffer spurred his team to a 17 point second half surge, leading the Rebels to 466 total yards on the day (the most LSU has allowed any opponent this season). Schaeffer finished with career highs of 208 yards passing and 94 rushing. Still, it wasn't enough to down the Tigers who have made a living this year out of making opportunistic plays.

It's looking more and more like LSU is going to get the chance to play for a national championship. Of course, in this topsy- turvy year that's exactly when we can all expect the upset to occur.
