The Mississippi State Bulldogs came back from a 14-0 deficit in the fourth quarter on Friday to down the Mississippi Rebels by a score of 17-14.

Commentary: After missing a potential game-tying, 51-yard field goal in last year's Egg Bowl, Bulldogs kicker Adam Carlson came through with a 48-yarder with 18 seconds left to lift his team to victory. The win almost assures that the Bulldogs will compete in their first bowl game since 2000 and was important enough to compel head coach Sylvester Croom to run around the field afterward with a Mississippi State flag.
