Texas tight end Jermichael Finley announced Monday his intention to forgo his junior year and enter the NFL draft.

The third-year sophomore did not publicize his predicted draft round.

This past season, Finley caught 45 passes for 573 yards and two touchdowns.

Commentary: This will be the second Longhorn to forgo another year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft; running back Jamaal Charles made his announcement a few days ago. Given he's an under-the-radar tight end, it's highly unlikely Finley will be drafted in the first round. On the surface, it may be wise for Miami to consider Finley in the second round, considering the team appears to be thin on tight ends.
