Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops confirmed Tuesday that cornerback Reggie Smith has opted to forgo his senior season in Norman and enter the NFL draft.

Last season the junior recorded 78 tackles (fourth on the team), three interceptions and one fumble recovery for a score.

Smith follows receiver Malcolm Kelly and linebacker Curtis Lofton in declaring early for the draft.

Commentary: When you're an elite football program like Oklahoma, it's expected that every year you'll have at least one talented junior who will give in to the enticement that is the NFL. While losing three juniors isn't ideal, Oklahoma will have another strong class of recruits coming to Norman; after all, the Sooner program's recruiting classes are usually inside the top 10, sometimes top five.
