This upcoming Humanitarian Bowl will be the last to feature an ACC tie-in for the foreseeable future. The bowl is set in Boise, Idaho.

"We will be leaving the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise," league commissioner John Swofford said Wednesday. "They provided some excellent experiences for our teams. I think if you talk with our teams they've enjoyed being there. It's a little different kind of bowl experience than a lot of places but our schools, coaches and athletic directors have wanted to move that particular game back more in our geographic footprint."

In its place, the conference is currently working a deal with the new Congressional Bowl in Washington, D.C.

COMMENTARY: This is a smart move for the conference because very few fans are likely willing to travel almost across the entire country to see the bowl's No. 8 ACC pick play. If the bowl received the No. 3 pick, that would be more appealing and willingness among fans to travel would increase. The Congressional Bowl will be a much better geographical fit with the conference, as Virginia, Virginia Tech, the four North Carolina schools and Maryland are very close.
