On Wednesday, the majority of SEC head football coaches voted that the recruiting period should be split into two different signing days.

Commentary: The coaches voted by a count of 9-3 at the SEC spring meetings to add an early signing day in late November. This would allow prospective players the opportunity to sign letters of intent during a 24-hour period before the contact period begins around Thanksgiving.

Before the proposal could be sponsored at the national level, the SEC's athletic directors and presidents would need to sign off on it. It will be interesting to see if they do.
