Georgia Tech seemingly has their destiny in their own hands in Coastal Division heading into the homestretch of the 2009 season. They now have the advantage in the loss column over both Virginia Tech and Miami. Duke, sitting at 3-1, is a darkhorse but realistically will probably not hold up as the season winds down. In the Atlantic Division Clemson is in the driver's seat and will earn a berth in the championship game by winning out in conference play.

1. Georgia Tech 8-1 (5-1) beat Vanderbilt 56-31

The Yellow Jackets racked up a season high 597 yards of offense, including 186 on the ground by Jonathan Dwyer. The defense is giving up too many points for comfort.

Next game: vs. Wake Forest (11-7)

2. Miami 6-2 (3-2) beat Wake Forest 28-27

This game was a real thriller. Jacory Harris threw for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns including the game winner to Travis Benjamin in the closing minutes of the game. They are not dead yet in the ACC race, but they need someone to step up and beat Georgia Tech.

Next game: vs. Virginia (11-7)

3. Clemson 5-3 (3-2) beat Coastal Carolina 49-3

Shame on the Tigers for scheduling this game this late in the season.

Next game: vs. Florida State (11-7)

4. Virginia Tech 5-3 (3-2) lost to UNC 20-17

This one stings. The Hokies were held to just 95 yards on the ground and rookie sensation Ryan Williams coughed up a crucial fumble with 2:02 left in the game.

Next game: @ ECU (11-5)

5. Duke 5-3 (3-1) beat Virginia 28-17

The Blue Devils have won three consecutive conference games for the first time since 1989. Kicker Will Snyderwine made 5 field goals to pace the scoring. Duke is still alive and kicking in the ACC title race!

Next game: @ UNC (11-7)

6. Boston College 6-3 (3-2) beat Central Michigan 31-10

The Eagles are now bowl eligible. Montel Harris ran for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns. They need help to overtake Clemson in the Atlantic Division.

Next game: @ Virginia (11-14)

7. UNC 5-3 (1-3) beat Virginia Tech 20-17

The defense did an awesome job of holding the Hokies offense down. Let's see if they can build on this win.

Next game: vs. Duke (11-7)

8. Florida State 4-4 (2-3) beat NC State 45-42

Another shootout game for the Seminoles. Their lack of defense does not bode well for their future. Jermaine Thomas ran for a career high 186 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Next game: @ Clemson (11-7)

9. Wake Forest 4-5 (2-3) lost to Miami 28-27

Tough loss in a game they should have won. That's the story of their season in 2009.

Next game: @ Georgia Tech (11-7)

10. Virginia 3-5 (2-2) lost to Duke 28-17

Like many other teams this year, they had no answer for Thaddeus Lewis.

Next game: @ Miami (11-7)

11. NC State 3-5 (0-4) lost to Florida State 45-42

Russell Wilson threw for 349 yards and 5 touchdowns and they lost. Enough said.

Next game: vs. Maryland (11-7)

12. Maryland 2-6 (1-3) was idle.

The one bright spot for them this week - they get to face the JV high school like defense of NC State.

Next game: @ NC State (11-7)
