College football fanatics should be able to get their fix on the very first day of the season. The TV schedule for the Sept. 1 opening of the college football season is getting extremely crowded.

For starters, The Furman vs. Jacksonville State game will air at 8 p.m. on “College Sports Television" cable network. That means five games are scheduled for TV that evening, and a sixth game may also be added.

ESPN will air at least four games that night. They have Oregon Ducks vs. Houston Cougars at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. They also have another 7 p.m. game that will be televised on ESPNU; Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons. At 7:30 p.m. ESPN's flagship main channel will televise the Central Florida Golden Knights vs. the South Carolina Gamecocks, 7:30 p.m. This game will also be televised on ESPNHD. Then finally, ESPN to will televise the Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. the Tulsa Hurricanes at 10:15 p.m. ESPNU is also considering doing another game that day.

All in all, college football fans (and sports oriented coach potatoes) should have a field day on September 1st.
