Last year was a dream season for the Virginia Tech Hokies. They finished the season as ACC champs and stayed close against Auburn all game in the Sugar Bowl. Everyone was waiting for Virginia Tech to take that late season nosedive, as they had the previous three seasons, but they never did.

Last year the main reason the nosedive didn't happen was the leadership at QB. Bryan Randall proved he was not only a top talent, but a terrific leader. He finished the season with 2264 yards and a great 21 TD to 9 INT ratio. Ever since the name Vick popped back up at VaTech a few short years back the media and the fans were excited. They remembered the days of Michael. Unfortunately Marcus isn't Michael. After off the field incidents and sitting out all of last season Vick finally returns to the team this season as the number one QB. He has solid talent, and could take this team far, but I'm not sold on his leadership and I feel they will lose a few close games that Randall won them last year. RB Imoh returns though, as does most of the receiving core, so should Vick take control of the Virginia Tech Hokies they will have a shot at another ACC crown.

The defense has solid talent back but does lose some starting experience. Look for the numbers to drop a bit from the #2 scoring defense in the nation.
Bottom line, this team has talent, but I can definitely see another nosedive with games against Boston College, Miami and Virginia among the final few weeks.
