The “Ole Ball Coach" is getting set for his debut as the South Carolina Gamecocks get set to host the UCF Golden Knights. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 PM.

The Steve Spurrier era is set to begin for the South Carolina Gamecocks. This game has garnered national attention just because of his presence. On the fields, Spurrier's squad is led by a veteran defense that includes sophomore SS Ko Simpson and CB Fred Bennett. Both are considered future NFL draft picks. On offense, sophomore Blake Mitchell is expected to get the starting nod at quarterback. It may take a few years for Spurrier to get his offense up to the standards that he was used to at Florida.

For George O'Leary's UCF squad, any victories this season would be an improvement over last years 0-11 record. The UCF Golden Knights hope to bounce back led by the arm of QB Steven Moffett. Last year Moffett threw for over 1700 yards but netted only nine touchdowns coupled with 11 interceptions. The Junior hopes to improve on those numbers this season.

South Carolina is favored heavily in this game. The point spread is currently at 21 ½.
