The Buffalo Bulls are visiting the Connecticut Huskies tonight. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST

The Buffalo Bulls downtrodden football program took a small step in the right direction as they posted two conference wins in route to a 2-9 record. With most of their top guys returning to the fold in 2005, head coach Jim Hofher hopes that his squad can further advance their push to respectability. The Bulls will be looking to avenge a 29-0 loss suffered at the hands of Connecticut in the season finale last year. The strength of the team should reside on the defensive side of the ball, where Buffalo returns 9 starters.

The UCONN Huskies fared well in their rookie year in the Big East, upsetting eventual conference champion Pittsburgh and winning their first ever bowl game, defeating Toledo 39-10 in the Motor City Bowl. The Huskies enter this one with very little experience at quarterback, now that do-everything signal caller Dan Orlovsky has moved on to the NFL. Junior Matt Bonislawki takes the reigns and looks to lead the team towards the top of the revamped Big East. He has plenty of help behind him in running back Cornell Brockington, who rushed for 1218 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2004. His backup, Terry Caulley is no slouch either, as he was the nations leading rusher in 2003, but was forced to miss 2004 with a knee injury.

Connecticut is favored heavily in this game. The point spread is currently at 18.
