The 20th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1-0) head to Ann Arbor to challenge the 3rd-ranked Michigan Wolverines (1-0) in the latest chapter of one of college football's most storied rivalries. Kickoff is set for 12 noon on Saturday at Michigan Stadium.

Notre Dame ushered in the Charlie Weis era in convincing fashion last week with a dominating win over Pitt. The Irish have a much tougher task this week as they take on a powerful Michigan team that hasn't lost at home to a non-conference opponent in 16 tries. Junior QB Brady Quinn will again lead the Irish offense, which took early control over Pitt and never let up. Quinn passed for 227 yards and 2 touchdowns last week as Notre Dame racked up 502 total yards against the Panthers. Look for backs Rashon Powers-Neal and Darius Walker to get plenty of touches this week, too.

Head Coach Lloyd Carr's Michigan squad rolled to an easy victory over Northern Illinois in their season opener. Sophomore QB Chad Henne was 20-of-31 for 227 yards and 2 TDs last week, and will look to add to those numbers against Notre Dame. He'll have WR Jason Avant in his sights all game long, as Avant is coming off a career-high nine receptions for 127 yards and a score. Mike Hart and Kevin Grady will be in the backfield for the Wolverines. The Michigan defense and special teams forced five Northern Illinois turnovers last week, and they'll be gunning for Notre with the same determination.
