Penn State quarterback Michael Robinson threw three touchdowns strikes and ran for another in leading the Nittany Lions to an easy 42-24 victory over the visiting Cincinnati Bearcats.

Robinson finished the game 11-of-18 passing for 220 yards and also added 59 yards rushing on 10 carries, including the first score of the game, a one-yard plunge on the Nittany Lions first possession. He and backup Anthony Morelli spread the ball around nicely, completing passes to nine different receivers.

The Penn State defense also did their part in the win, forcing four turnovers and only yielding 30 rushing yards to the Bearcats on 34 attempts.

The Nittany Lions looked sluggish in the first half, holding only a 14-3 halftime advantage, but outscored Cincinnati 28-7 in the second half, before coach Joe Paterno decided to play mostly 2nd string players in the fourth quarter. This enabled Cincinnati to add a couple late scores, to make the game look closer than it really was.

Penn State gets one more tune up next week before beginning Big Ten play, as they host Central Michigan.
