The Purdue Boilermakers made easy work of the Akron Zips cruising to a 49-24 victory. The game was actually still in contention at the end of the third quarter, with the Boilermakers leading by just 11 points. In the fourth quarter, Purdue poured it on and put the game out of contention with three touchdowns.

Quarterback Brandon Kirsch threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns on 22 of 35 passing. Jerod Void added 102 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries. Tight end Dustin Keller cashed in with two touchdown passes.

The Purdue Boilermakers defense held the Zips to just 42 rushing yards. They forced two fumbles and allowed Akron to convert on only 2 of their 13 third down attempts. However, Purdue's pass defense is a bit of a concern. They allowed the Zips to throw for well over 300 yards and three touchdown passes.
