The Penn State Nittany Lions moved to 2-0 on the season after today's 42-24 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats. Led by senior quarterback Marcus Robinson's efficient play the Nittany Lions proved to be too strong for Cincinnati.

Robinson proved to be a dangerous dual threat as he passed for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns on the day while also gaining 61 yards and a touchdown rushing. Running backs Tony Hunt and Austin Scott shared the duties for the day combining for 77 yards on 21 carries.

Cincinnati's offense just couldn't get the running game going and their 35 yard rushing effort for the day forced their offense to be one dimensional having to constantly
rely on the pass. Although he was hurried all day and sacked four times, Cincinnati's redshirt freshman quarterback Dustin Grutza did manage to amass 287 yards through the air, but due to the unbalanced offensive attack he only managed 1 touchdown with 2 interceptions.

At one point in the 4th quarter Penn State was leading 42-10, but two late Cincinnati touchdowns made the score look a little closer than the game actually was and pushed their score up to 24. This inflated point total is almost
unacceptable to this Nittany Lions defense that has nine starters returning from last year's team. Not as much dominance as Penn State would like, but Joe Pa and the rest of the bunch move to 2-0 for the first time since 2002.
