The Texas Tech Red Raiders and their high powered offense scored early and often on Saturday night, in route to a 56-3 win over FIU.

Red Raiders quarterback Cody Hodges had a huge night, going 29-of-37 passing for 457 yards and four touchdown strikes. His favorite target on this night was junior receiver Robert Johnson, who caught nine passes for 128 yards and a touchdown.

As a team, Texas Tech out gained FIU 653 yards to 334.
If you're being picky, the main thing the Texas Tech Red Raiders will need to work on is cutting down on penalties; they committed 14 for 118 yards. But, of course, it's difficult to find many negatives when you win by 53 points.

The score could look a bit lopsided the next two weeks, as Texas Tech plays Sam Houston State and Indiana State before the road gets tougher in Big 12 Conference play.
