The emotional high that the TCU Horned Frogs were riding after their monumental upset over Oklahoma last week proved to be fleeting. This week they traveled to Dallas to face off against what was supposed to be an inferior SMU squad and proceed to lose to the Mustangs 21-10.

Quarterback Tye Gunn, who was one of the heroes in last week's game, had a horrendous outing. He was 16 of 36 for 134 yards and threw three costly interceptions. Running back Robert Merrill was solid once again, rushing for 99 yards on 20 carries, but was unable to help get his offense into the endzone. The lone touchdown for the TCU Horned Frogs came on an 87-yard kick return by Cory Rodgers.

For the SMU Mustangs, running back DeMyron Martin was a one-man wrecking crew. He rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries and added 30 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. Quarterback Jerad Romo was steady and efficient, completing 11 of 21 passes for 101 yards with one touchdown.
