One thing is for certain, the Utah Utes will not take the TCU Horned Frogs lightly when they visit Salt Lake City on Thursday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM EST.

Its unclear which TCU squad is going to show up though. Is it the unit that shocked the Oklahoma Sooners to weeks ago or will it be the underachieving team that got embarrassed by the SMU last weekend. A key factor for the TCU Horned Frogs will be the status of Lonta Hobbs. The senior running back hurt his groin in the SMU game and might not be ready to go on Thursday. If that is the case, Robert Merrill will get the majority of the team's carries. Quarterback Tye Gunn will also be a key factor. It seems like his performance mirrors the fortunes of the team as a whole. When TCU beat Oklahoma Gunn had a big day. When the Horned Frogs lost to SMU Gunn had a horrible outing.

The Utah Utes will be looking to improve on their performance in the early stages of games. They have had not scored a single point in the 1st quarter of games thus far. Penalties have also been a huge problem offensively. The Utes had 133 rushing yards and touchdown negated by penalties last week. Despite those miscues, running back Quinton Ganther still rushed for over a hundred yards and had a touchdown.

The Utah Utes passing game is led by QB Brian Johnson and star wide receiver John Madsen. Johnson has thrown for 488 yards and three touchdowns. Madsen has 11 catches for 169 yards with two touchdowns. If they can connect early and often, the Utes should be able to outscore the Horned Frogs and secure a victory.
