After dropping a potential game-winning touchdown pass on Saturday night in the Ohio State Buckeyes' loss to the Texas Longhorns, tight end Ryan Hamby has been the target a few hate mail letters. The pass would have given the Buckeyes a 10-point lead, but instead, they had to settle for a field goal. They eventually lost the game 25-22.

On the play, Hamby cut across the middle of the end zone, and was wide open, when Ohio State quarterback Justin Zwick spotted him a threw a bullet pass than bounced off his chest and into the air. Hamby was hit hard by a defender as he made a second effort to haul in the pass.
Texas went on to score a touchdown to put them up by one point, and added a safety in the waning seconds to go up by the final winning margin of three.

Ryan Hamby would not elaborate about the contents of the letters, but said that he's suffered some sleepless nights since the game. His teammates have rallied behind the senior, saying that they had plenty of opportunities to win the game, and that one play didn't lose it for them.

The team is hoping to put the loss behind them and focus on their next opponent. The Ohio State Buckeyes host San Diego State on Saturday in Columbus.
