The Rice Owls (0-1) will make the short trip from Houston to Austin to take on the #2 Texas Longhorns (2-0). Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm ET at Memorial Stadium.

The 2nd ranked Texas Longhorns are coming off a huge road victory against #9 Ohio State last week. The Longhorns will again be led by junior QB Vince Young, who was 18-of-29 for 270 yards and 2 touchdowns last week. He also racked up 76 rushing yards against the Buckeyes. Sophomore WR Billy Pittman also had a big game last week. He hauled in 5 catches for 130 yards and a TD. Young, Pittman, running back Jaamal Charles and the rest of the Texas Longhorns offense will be looking to run up the score against the Owls' shaky defense.

The Rice Owls had a miserable season opener against UCLA last week. The defense gave up 63 points and 578 yards, and the offense couldn't get much going all game long. Quarterbacks Joel Armstrong and Chase Clement were equally ineffective as they shared the workload against the Bruins. They threw for only 32 and 31 yards, respectively. The Owls clearly have their work cut out for them this week too.
