Led by quarterback Josh Betts, who passed for 359 yards and three scores, the Miami of Ohio RedHawks blasted the Cincinnati Bearcats 44-16 on Wednesday night to reclaim the Victory Bell. They avenged a 45-26 Bearcats win in this rivalry game last season. Running back Brandon Murphy added 120 yards on 27 carries and also scored a touchdown.

Cincinnati quarterback Dustin Garza didn't fare quite as well, as the RedHawks defense intercepted him five times. He ended up 22-of-39 for 199 yards. Miami also did a nice job stuffing the Bearcats run, only allowing 66 yards on 27 attempts.

After the Cincinnati Bearcats cut the lead to 20-10 about midway through the third quarter, the Miami of Ohio RedHawks scored 24 consecutive points to put the game away. They capitalized on two Garza interceptions in the final quarter that led to short scoring drives. Kicker Todd Soderquist added three field goals for the victors.
Miami improved to 2-2 with the win, while Cincinnati fell to 2-2.
