In Fort Collins, the scoreboard was working overtime in a high scoring affair as the Colorado State Rams defeated the Air Force Falcons 41-23. The battle of conference and state rivals was decided in a huge second half by the Rams. It was the second win in a row for Colorado State and the third loss of the year for the Falcons.

Perhaps the brightest of many offensive stars on the night was Colorado State's Kyle Bell. The sophomore rushed for a career best 197 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries for a gaudy average of over 6 yards per carry. In addition to Bell's big night, CSU receiver David Anderson continued his school record setting pace with 105 yards on seven catches. The night kept Anderson on pace to catch the all time school record for most receptions and yards. With all the gaudy offensive stats, including 551 yards of total offense, the difference really seemed to be the physicality of the Colorado State offensive line that seemed to overwhelm the Falcons early and became dominant late.

Air Force was coming off two tough losses and was hoping to get back to winning, but they could just never get going. The Falcons were plagued early with poor tackling. On one play, in particular, Bell ran in a 1 yard touchdown that came on about the third effort. Early in the game, the Falcons found themselves inside the CSU 20 yard line, but came away with only three field goals. That would prove to be costly. After taking a 16-13 lead early in the second half, the defense just kept wearing down and could never get any stops against the Rams offense. Air Force was led on the ground by Chad Hall, who rushed for 107 yards on 11 carries, but could never punch one in. Shaun Carney threw for 130 yards and 1 touchdown.

Air Force will seek redemption next week when they travel to academy rival, Navy. Colorado State will stay home to face Mountain West Conference foe, Utah.
