The Aggies take on both an undefeated team and the Sports Illustrated jinx this Saturday (12:30 p.m. EDT) at Kyle Field.

Texas A&M QB Reggie McNeal was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated on Campus this week, always an ominous sign for those who believe that any kind of out-front exposure by America's leading sports magazine leads to a flop shortly thereafter.

What has flopped this season, however, is A&M's defense. In a loss to Clemson and lopsided victories over SMU and Texas State (not exactly a murderers' row), Dennis Franchione's defenders have surrendered more ground than the eroding Mississippi Delta -- 412.3 yards per game.

Baylor meanwhile, hasn't exactly faced top competition, beating SMU (28-23), Samford and Army. Guy Morriss' Bears are led by QB Shawn Bell, prolific receivers Trent Shelton and Dominigue Zeigler and RB Paul Mosley. Senior DB Maurice Lane has 216 career solo tackles.

McNeal has put up Heisman-worthy stats thus for the Aggies, rushing for an even 100 yards in each of the last two games and throwing for 776 yards and eight TDs overall. Other offensive weapons for the Aggies include RB Courtney Lewis and WR Jason Carter (383 receiving yards, 3 TDs).

Texas A&M may gain added incentive from last season's meeting, when the Bears upset the Aggies 35-34 in overtime in Waco.
