The Ball State Cardinals suspended 16 players for Saturday's game against the 21st ranked Boston College Eagles as part of a continuing investigation of NCAA violations. The Cardinals had already suspended 13 players for the opener against Iowa.

Among the players that will be suspended or are recommended for suspension are Charles Wynn, the Cardinals' leading rusher this season with 126 yards in two games and Brian Williamson, the top returning receiver from 2004.

The university made an announcement in September that 43 of their student athletes in six different sports improperly used a book loan program to obtain textbooks not required for their own courses or received improperly obtained textbooks from other players. These violations were by the discovered by the program last spring and were reported to the NCAA, which has not yet taken action.
