This Saturday, in a late west coast start, the Washington Huskies (1-3) will travel to the Rose Bowl to take on the 20th ranked UCLA Bruins (3-0). Kickoff is at 10:15 PM in Pasadena, CA. The game will be the Pac-10 game opener for both schools.

Coming off of an emotional loss against Coach Ty Willingham's former employer, Notre Dame, the Huskies are looking to regroup and give their first year coach his second win of the season. Against the Irish last week, the Washington Huskies managed to waste several early opportunities and it came back to bite them late in the loss. There were few bright spots for Washington amidst the costly fumbles, interceptions, and penalties. They will need to show a lot of improvement against a UCLA squad that comes in unbeaten and with the fourth best scoring offense in the country. The Huskies are struggling mightily this season, but should come into Pasadena with a sense of urgency.

Coach Karl Dorrell's UCLA Bruins come in against Washington unbeaten and fresh off of a big win over traditional powerhouse Oklahoma. In the game, Drew Olsen threw for 314 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-24 romp. Maurice Drew also comes into the game as UCLA's leading rusher with 278 yards on the season. Last year, against the Bruins, Drew set a school mark by rushing for 322 yards and five touchdowns in a game where UCLA came back from a 24-7 first quarter deficit. Look for the Bruins to try to jump out early and score often against a struggling Huskies squad whose defense has been shredded on the ground thus far this season.

Washington has improved week to week. Many would also say they are better than their record, but watch out for a blowout. Beating a high powered offense like UCLA's is just asking too much of Willingham's squad.
