Vince Young and the Texas Longhorns were in a dogfight early on, but ended up rolling over the Missouri Tigers 51-20. The Tigers were only down by one at the end of the first quarter, but Texas scored 37 unanswered points to put the game out of contention.

Vince Young had a big day for the Longhorns, throwing for 237 yards with two touchdowns and one interception on 15 of 22 passing and added 108 rushing yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. Jamaal Charles and Selvin Young combined for 156 yards on 15 carries. Charles also had a touchdown. The Texas Longhorns defense had trouble slowing down the Tigers early on, allowing 13 points in the first quarter, but got into a groove and held Missouri scoreless until late in the fourth quarter. They forced three turnovers (2 FUM 1 INT) on the day.

The Missouri Tigers were lead by quarterback Brad Smith. He had a sub par day but still accounted for 180 yards passing and led the team in rushing with 56 yards. It took 25 carries to amass that yardage but he did get two rushing touchdowns in the process.
