Running back Michael Bush gained a career-high 204 yards and scored three times as the Louisville Cardinals squashed the FAU Owls 61-10, one week after a horrendous upset loss to another Florida foe the week before.

Louisville almost fell completely out of the top 25 after last week's defeat at South Florida, but looked more like the team that many assumed would run roughshod over the rest of the Big East this year. Heisman candidate quarterback Brian Brohm was sharp all day, completing 15-of-23 passes for 282 yards and one touchdown.

The game was a homecoming for FAU head coach Howard Schnellenberger, who coached Louisville for a decade and is credited with putting the football program on the map. In his newest reclamation project, his Owls hung in the game for almost the entire first half.

But, his upstart team couldn't match Louisville's explosiveness after going into the second quarter tied at 3-3. Their only touchdown of the game, a 15-yard pass from Danny Embrick to Casey McGahee, cut the Cardinal lead to 13-10 with 6:22 remaining in the first half. Embrick finished the game 12-of-20 for 161 yards before being replaced by Sean Clayton.

The Louisville Cardinals finished the game by scoring the final 38 points.
