The Mississippi State Bulldogs got of to an exciting start against the heavily favored LSU Tigers. QB Omar Conner hooked up with WR Joey Sanders for 67-yard touchdown to take an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, that would be the last time they would score.

The LSU Tigers thoroughly dominated Mississippi State. After allowing the early score, LSU held the Bulldogs to only 152 yards of total offense. Omar Conner ended the day with 143 yards with one touchdown and one interception on 9 of 22 passing. The Bulldogs' rushing offense was held to 58 yards on 28 carries.

JaMarcus Russell bounced back after a rough outing against the Tennessee Volunteers last week. The LSU Tigers signal caller threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns on 21-24 passing. It's tough to be much more efficient than that. His three favorite targets were Skyler Green, Early Doucet, and Dwayne Bowe who had two touchdown grabs. Joseph Addai added 91 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
