Marcus Vick had a bit of a sloppy game throwing the ball, but his legs and the Virginia Tech Hokies' defense overcame a game Maryland Terrapins squad 28-9.

Maryland's defense forced three Marcus Vick interceptions and recovered a fumble but the Terps' offense could not cash in with points of those turnovers. The defense also had a lot of trouble slowing down Vick and RB Mike Imoh on the ground. Vick ended up with 211 passing yards on 14 of 23 passing, but added an impressive 133 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Imoh added 86 tough rushing yards and two touchdowns.

However, despite these solid performances Virginia Tech was holding onto a slim 7-3 lead going into halftime. Vick's interceptions kept the Maryland Terrapins in the game for a while, but back-to-back touchdowns by Imoh put the game out of contention early in the fourth quarter. Freshman RB Branden Ore added another touchdown for the Hokies to make the score 28-9 and then Maryland QB Sam Hollenbach connected with Derrick Fenner on a 10-yard scoring strike to end the scoring. Hollenback ended up completing 14 of 30 passes for just 158 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

The Virginia Tech Hokies remain undefeated at 7-0 while the Maryland Terrapins fall to 4-3.
