The Auburn Tigers travel to Baton Rouge this weekend to play the LSU Tigers. Auburn enters the game undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 record, while LSU has been less fortunate in conference play at 2-1. As usual this game will have a major impact on the SEC Western division race and will play a large role in figuring out which team will go to Atlanta for the conference championship game. A 2nd conference loss for LSU would almost guarantee that they will not make it to the SEC championship game, while Auburn could lose and still be tied with LSU, although LSU would win the tiebreaker.

Both the LSU Tigers and Auburn Tigers have balanced offensive attacks rooted at the ability to run the ball. Last week, LSU running back Joseph Addai torched Florida for 156 yards and Auburn running back Kenny Irons ran for 182 yards at Arkansas. Neither team's opponent last week has nearly as much defensive talent as they will see in each other this week, so it should be a treat to see these tough running games work against exceptional defensive lines and linebackers.

This game also features a battle of sophomore quarterbacks, JaMarcus Russell of LSU and Brandon Cox of Auburn. In a tight SEC match up like this, the quarterback who makes the fewest mistakes will likely lead his team to victory, but these are two very good quarterbacks so do not be surprised if either Cox or Russell steps up, takes the game into their hands and performs like a veteran.
