After pretty much controlling the game in the first three quarters behind the running of quarterback Reggie McNeal and tailback Jovorskie Lane, the Texas A&M Aggies survived a furious Kansas State comeback to claim their first road victory of the season 30-28.

McNeal rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, and Lane chipped in with 98 yards and two scores himself, as Texas A&M held a comfortable 23-8 lead heading into the final quarter. But, the Aggies special teams helped make the game interesting.

Punter Justin Brantly attempted to kick the ball from his own goal line, but the Wildcats came up with a block that was scooped up by Jordy Nelson in the end zone to cut the Texas A&M lead to 23-15. On their next possession, Kansas State quarterback Allen Evridge connected with Jermaine Moreira 42 yard scoring pass give them a chance to tie the game, but their two-point attempt was thwarted. Evridge had a big day, completing 23-of-44 for 357 yards and two touchdowns, but was also intercepted once.

The Aggies answered the Wildcats on the ensuing possession, when Lane capped the drive with a two-yard run. He was starting for Courtney Lewis once again, who had been out with an undisclosed injury. Lewis did return in a reserve role, rushing four times for 19 yards in limited duty.

Kansas State did have a late score, a four-yard pass from Evridge to Moore, but still trailed by two after the extra point. After an unsuccessful onside kick attempt by the Wildcats, Texas A&M ran the clock out for the win to improve to 5-2 on the year. With the loss, Kansas State dropped to 4-3.
