At the Kibbie Dome in Idaho, it was the #24 Fresno State Bulldogs easily over the Idaho Vandals 40-10. In a contest between the best team in the WAC and the newest, Idaho continued to struggle as Fresno State stayed hot.

Idaho actually got on the board first as Jason Lee Brown ran in a 9 yard touchdown early on in the first quarter. They would not score again until a Mike Barrow 50 yard field goal late in the second quarter put the Vandals within a touchdown at the half 16-10. However, Idaho wouldn't score again and the rout was on. Idaho, largely reliant on the run, was lead by sophomore running back Rolly Lumbala who finished the game with 77 yards rushing on 16 carries. He was among 7 Vandals with rushes on the day, but only 4 managed positive yardage. Idaho junior quarterback Steven Wichman managed just 95 yards on 16-of-25 passing with no touchdowns or interceptions.

Fresno State, one of the nation's hottest teams having now won 4 in a row, played sloppy at times, but never really sweated this one after special teams picked them up. After Idaho got on the board first, Fresno State answered with a 47 yard punt return by Joe Fernandez for at touchdown, then two minutes later a Josh Sherley 6 yard punt return for a touchdown. The Bulldogs' offense was well spread with quarterback, Paul Pinegar, throwing for 236 yards and one touchdown, Wendell Mathis (104 yards rushing) and Bryson Sumlin (27 yards rushing) each running one in, and the two punt returns.

The win keeps Fresno State (5-1, 3-0 WAC) in first place in the WAC as they continue to travel up the national rankings as well in hopes of an at large BCS bid. The Bulldogs travel to Hawaii next week. The WAC's newest member, Idaho (1-6, 1-3 WAC) will travel to New Mexico State next week to battle the Aggies.
