In a big time battle of SEC powers this Saturday, the 15th ranked Auburn Tigers (7-2) will travel to Athens, Georgia to take on the 9th ranked Georgia Bulldogs (7-1). Kickoff is at 7:45 PM Eastern time at Sanford stadium.

A win this Saturday for the Bulldogs would be only the second in the last 11 games that they have hosted the Tigers. All time at Auburn, Georgia has managed to go 12-9-2, but are just 9-17 when hosting them, including losses in 9 of the last 10.

The Georgia Bulldogs have been idle since their last game, a 14-10 loss to Florida in Jacksonville. Replacing the injured D.J. Shockley, Joe Tereshinski started against Florida, but he managed just 8 out of 21 passes for 100 yards and an interception. The Bulldogs are looking for Shockley to play this week and help put Georgia back in the win column. Georgia needs the win to get into the SEC title game. A win against Auburn with either a Florida loss at South Carolina or a second Bulldogs win next week against Kentucky gets them into the game.

Since a loss at LSU back on October 22, the Auburn Tigers have won two in a row. Last week, they rolled over Kentucky 49-27. IN the game, Tristan Davis ran for 162 yards and a touchdown, while Kenny Irons went for 103 yards. That gave Irons his fourth straight games going over the century mark on the ground. The high powered Tiger rushing attack totaled 388 yards against Kentucky and will look to keep up the ground game against Georgia.

Since 2000, Georgia and Auburn are tied for the best record in SEC games. They are a combined 34-12 over that time period.
