Louisville sophomore quarterback Brian Brohm completed 22-of-30 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns and also scored on the ground for a Cardinal team without the services of Michael Bush in a 56-5 rout of Rutgers at Papa John's Stadium on Friday night.

Ten of Brohm's throws were grabbed by receiver Joshua Tinch, who went for a career-high 183 yards, including a 36-yarder in the third quarter to give the 23rd ranked Cardinals an insurmountable 42-5 lead at the time, while George Stripling and Kolby Smith combined for 146 yards and three scores on the ground in place of Bush, who was forced to sit out due to a sprained foot.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights attempted to stay close in the first half, as they pinned Louisville deep in it's own territory a couple times, even forcing a safety on a blocked punt attempt to cut the lead to 14-5 early on. But the Scarlet Knights were simply outclassed, and didn't make matters easier on themselves by committing 12 penalties and turning the ball over twice.

Quarterback Mike Teel was picked off twice, while going 12-of-24 for just 91 yards, while the ground game was held to just 102 yards on the night. Rutgers fell to 6-4 on the year, and have now lost two straight games after becoming bowl eligible with a win at Connecticut on October 22nd.

The victory moved the Louisville Cardinals to 7-2 and 3-2 in the Big East, though West Virginia clinched the conference title with a win over Cincinnati on Wednesday night. Louisville has now won 11 straight times at Papa John's Stadium.
