The Notre Dame Fighting Irish once again overcame the Navy Midshipmen 42-21. The win extends Notre Dame's NCAA record winning streak over Navy to 42.

Three unanswered 2nd quarter touchdowns put the game more or less out of reach by halftime with the Fighting Irish enjoying a 28-7 lead. Heisman Trophy hopeful QB Brady Quinn threw four touchdowns and finished 22 of 31 for 284 yards. His favorite target was Maurice Stovall who hauled in three touchdowns. Darius Walker added 118 rushing yards on 19 carries. Notre Dame's defense cashed in on two Navy turnovers.

The Navy Midshipmen couldn't do much of anything offensively. QB Lamar Owens was responsible for the bulk of the offensive output, but even he managed only 62 rushing yards and a touchdown to go along with just 3 of 7 passing for 58 yards.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish improve to 7-2 while Navy drops to 5-4.
