The Wake Forest Demon Deacons hung around early against the Miami Hurricanes. They even managed to take a 17-14 lead with just under five minutes left to play in the first half after back to back touchdowns. Unfortunately, that would be the last time that Wake Forest would score. The Hurricanes rolled off 34 straight points en route to a 47-17 victory.

Kyle Wright tied a school record by throwing 5 touchdown passes. He hit five different receivers for scores and tallied 319 passing yards on 17 of 27 passing. However, he's not the only sophomore that is coming into his own for Miami. Running back Charlie Jones ran for 90 yards on 17 carries and cashed in with 2 touchdown runs in the first start of his career. The Hurricanes defense forced 6 turnovers for the second straight week. Safety Brandon Merriweather restated his case for the Jim Thorpe award. He collected another interception and seemed to be all over the field making one hard hitting tackle after another.

Seniors Chris Barclay and Cory Randolph ended their Wake Forest careers on a down note. Randolph threw two interceptions and fumbled once and the normally sure handed Barclay coughed up two fumbles of his own. Randolph ended the game with 115 passing yards on 8 of 16 passing. Barclay did manage to reach the century mark, rushing for 105 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries.

The Miami Hurricanes improve to 8-1 and will move to #3 in the BCS Poll thanks to Alabama's loss at the hands of LSU. Wake Forest ends the season at 4-7.
