Texas A&M head coach Dennis Franchione stated that he expects quarterback Reggie McNeal's ankle to be completely healed by the time the Aggies face the Texas Longhorns one day after Thanksgiving.

McNeal had to be carted off the field after being on the receiving end of a vicious hit against Oklahoma this past weekend in a 36-30 Aggies defeat. He was taken back to the Texas A&M locker room for treatment, but later returned to the sidelines on crutches.

Franchione, who rarely comments on injuries unless they he is announcing a player is out for the season, says that McNeal is coming along well and is planning on him being in the huddle when the team resumes practice.

Apparently, the Texas A&M Aggies record-setting signal-caller feels there should be no question about whether he will play, either. When asked by reporters about his current health, McNeal said he's leaving it up to the trainers to get him ready, but he vows to be on the field for the finale.

Last year at College Station, McNeal went 20-of-38 passing for 247 yards with a touchdown and an interception in a losing effort, as the Longhorns prevailed for the fifth straight time in this rivalry, 26-13.
