Let's take a quick look at the latest college football headlines.

DREW DECLARES FOR THE DRAFT

On Saturday, UCLA Bruins running back Maurice Drew announced that he would forego his senior season and enter the NFL draft. He says that the decision was made to honor his late grandfather who suffered a heart attack while watching UCLA play on September 10th and passed away shortly thereafter.

Maurice Drew was a 1st Team All American as an all-purpose player this season. Although he stands only 5'8'' and weighs 205 pounds, he is still expected to be a first day selection.

FISHER AND NOLAN TO COACH AT SENIOR BOWL

On Friday, it was announced the Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher and San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan would be on the sidelines for this year's Senior Bowl, which will be held on January 28th in Mobile, Alabama.

Fisher will coach the North squad while Nolan will oversee the South squad. The coaches are expected to bring along their assistants and athletic trainers as well as video and training equipment.

POSLUSZNY WILL NOT NEED SURGERY

Although Penn State Nittany Lions linebacker Paul Posluszny did partially tear two ligaments in the Orange Bowl earlier this week, the good news is that he will not need surgery on the injured knee. The news has led Posluszny to seriously consider foregoing his senior season to enter the NFL draft.

If he decides to return to Penn State he will likely be ready to go in time for spring practice.

OMAR JACOBS HEADED TO THE NFL

Bowling Green quarterback Omar Jacobs has declared his intentions to enter the NFL draft. He had an electrifying college career, throwing for nearly 7,000 yards and 71 touchdowns, but has been informed that he will likely be a fourth round selection. However, Jacobs believes that he will get an opportunity to improve his draft status by showing off his athletic ability in the NFL scouting combine.

Some mock drafts have Omar Jacobs being a possible first round selection.
