The NCAA has granted Auburn Tigers cornerback David Irons a rare 6th year of eligibility. Irons missed the entire 2004 season with a torn ACL, but returned this past season and garnered All-SEC honors. Although he was invited to the NFL scouting combine, David Irons preferred to return for one more season at Auburn. On Tuesday, the NCAA granted his wish.

If Irons had not been granted a 6th year of eligibility he would have declared himself eligible for the NFL draft.

VIRGINIA TECH REVIEWING DISMISSAL OF VICK

Virginia Tech Hokies officials are reviewing the handling of Marcus Vick's dismissal from the team earlier this month. School president Charles Steger is forming a committee to review the transgressions that led to Vick's dismissal and the 4,000 word document that outlines the schools rules regarding student-athlete behavior.

Since being dismissed from school Vick was arrested for pulling a gun during a dispute in the parking lot of a Virginia McDonalds and has also declared himself eligible for the NFL draft.

SENIOR BOWL NOTES

-Memphis running back has been silencing critics all week long with his outstanding showings in practice. It seems as if the “he's too small for the NFL" doubts have begun to subside.

-LSU wide receiver Skyler Green tweaked a hamstring on Tuesday and had to sit out of practice.

-Penn State quarterback Michael Robinson is expected to get repetitions at the wide receiver position. He had been taking snaps behind center through Tuesday.
