University of Florida senior safety and captain Tony Joiner was arrested early Tuesday morning at a Gainesville towing company impound lot and charged with felony burglary. He was later released on bond.

Joiner ranks fifth on the team with 20 tackles and contributed a key interception to one of the Gators' four victories.

Commentary : Actually, this sounds a lot worse than it is. There's little chance that Joiner will be found guilty, because the owner of the impound lot told police Joiner had arranged to meet him there to pay $76 to get his girlfriend's car released. The owner was delayed, and Joiner simply grew tired of waiting, pushed the gate open and started to drive away with the car before he was stopped by a witness (apparently, the lot was a busy place at 4:59 in the morning).

"I don't want to see him get into trouble," said the owner.

Some Gator fans will simply be relieved to hear that Joiner has a girlfriend. His sideline kiss with Tim Tebow during the Auburn game created a YouTube stir (the video has already been pulled).

Joiner was not allowed to practice Tuesday afternoon, and Gators coach Urban Meyer said he hadn't decided whether he could play against LSU on Saturday.

"I'm still evaluating that whole deal," Meyer told Gatorsports.com after practice.
