Shaun King, who was released by the Detroit Lions on May 31, didn't have to wait long for a team to request his services as he signed with the Indianapolis Colts on Friday.

King will be called on to backup perennial Pro-Bowl QB Payton Manning, as last year's 2nd stringer, Jim Sorgi, has been unable to throw in recent weeks because of a sore shoulder. King will be reunited with a familiar face in head coach Tony Dungy. He played three seasons in Tampa Bay while Dungy was head coach of the Buccaneers.
