Colts’ Mike Doss arrested on weapons charges

Indianapolis Colts safety Mike Doss was arrested early Sunday morning on gun charges. He is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, discharging a firearm within city limits, inducing panic and obstructing official business. Doss was released after posting $1,000 on a $10,000 bond to appear in court.

Police heard five or six shots coming from outside a restaurant around 2:20 am, and found shell casings in the area and a gun in trunk of Doss' Mercedes-Benz. He refused to cooperate with authorities when questioned about the incident.

Doss may face disciplinary actions from the Colts or the NFL after the arrest. The 5'10", 207 pound defensive back lives in Canton, Ohio. Doss, who enters his third professional season with Indianapolis, won a national championship with Ohio State University to conclude the 2002 season.
