Colts’ Nick Harper arrested after hitting wife

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Nick Harper was arrested for allegedly hitting his wife. The 30 year old Harper was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. He has been held at the Hamilton County Jail in Noblesville, Indiana on $2,500 bond. Because of the nature of the charges, Harper cannot bond out of jail until after his initial court appearance Monday.

Deputies were called to the couple's home north of Indianapolis in the morning, according to Hamilton County Sheriff Doug Carter. Danielle Harper was treated for an eye injury that did not require a trip to the hospital.

The 5 foot 10 inch, 182 pound Harper re-signed with the Colts in April. He had 77 tackles, 3 interceptions, 5 deflected passes, and 1 fumble recovery in 2004.
