Weeks of speculation as to whether Indianapolis Colts running back Edgerrin James would arrive at camp on time ended on Wednesday....quietly. James literally snuck into camp through the backdoor undetected by the media hoard assembled in the players' parking lot.

Edgerrin James became a free agent back in February, but the Colts placed the franchise tag on the three-time pro bowl back, and the two sides agreed on a one-year tender worth slightly more than $8 million. James and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, insisted the team offer up a long term deal. They went as far as to seek permission for a trade. When the Colts refused to budge, James hinted that he may not be present at training camp. He was quoted as saying, "the closest I'm gonna get to Japan was Benihana (a Japanese restaurant chain)", referring to the location (Tokyo) of the Indianapolis Colts first pre-season game on August 6th versus the Atlanta Falcons.

With James arrival, the Colts will have everyone in camp on the first day; something they haven't accomplished since 2002. All ten of Indianapolis' draft choices have agreed to terms on contracts. First-round selection Marlin Jackson, a defensive back from Michigan, and second-round pick cornerback Kelvin Hayden out of Illinois will finalize their deals this morning, right before the team's first practice.

The Colts open the regular season on September 11th at the Baltimore Ravens.
