The recently released movie "Prom Night" is a horror show. And apparently, so was Connecticut football recruit Jordan Todman's prom last weekend at Dartmouth, Mass., High School.

Police in Swansea, Mass., where the prom was held, set up a sobriety checkpoint outside the Venus de Milo restaurant, and Todman's girlfriend -- Leah Bello -- was refused entry after she blew a 0.8. She supposedly became upset and was restrained by police.

At that point, according to a police report, Todman yelled "That's my girlfriend!" confronted the officers, and was arrested himself.

Steve Cruz, Todman's legal guardian, told South Coast Today that the police had "turned it into a big fiasco. I think people hear 'star running back, alcohol and marijuana involved' and draw the wrong conclusion. It's not like that."

Dartmouth High coach Rick White agreed.

"He (Todman) doesn't drink or smoke," he said. "I'll go to my grave believing that."

Todman was named Massachusetts Division I player of the year for the second straight season in 2007, finishing with 1,970 yards and 35 touchdowns. He ended his career with 5,779 rushing yards, second all time in Massachusetts history.

A 5-foot-9, 180-pounder, Todman flashes 4.43 speed and could be employed at either running back or defensive back at Connecticut. UConn officials said they were "monitoring" the prom night situation, but that it probably would not affect Todman's scholarship.
