The Dallas Cowboys' offense is the most talked about aspect of this year's team, however, the defense should be the highlight of the offseason. Even though T.O. was the biggest name ousted this year, there were more familiar names cut on the other side of the ball.

Roy "31/38" Willams and Greg "crybaby" Ellis have been with DaBoys since their rookie years. Both have been replaced by younger, faster players in G-Sense and A-Spense. Getting rid of Pac-Rat Jones and Stank Johnson won't even be noticed, except for the bad publicity they brought with them. Henry, Burnett and Big Zach were all serviceable players, but have lost a step or two over the last few years. Chris Canty is the only real contributor that is gone, but i wouldn't pay the type of money that the NYG did for him.

The defense is showing something we haven't seen here in a long time... speed, speed and more speed. T-New is one of the best , when healthy, and both second year corners can play either side or the slot. We now have safeties that can cover the run and the pass, in pro-bowler K.Hamlin and newly acquired Gerald Sensebaugh. Sorry NFC East tight ends, no more free rides against Dallas. Keith Brooking and Igor Olshansky are both familiar with Wade's scheme, playing under him in SD and ATL.

Everyone talks about the collapse these last few decembers like it's all Tony Romo just giving the games away. But no one talks about how the defense is giving up 7-8 pts/gm more in December than the rest of the season. The offense needs to give the defense more time to rest between drives, but it's up to them to stop the opposition when they're on the field. Romo didn't give up the two longest TD runs in history back -back. In fact, he kept us close enough to win despite the lack of a clue on how to stop the run against the Ravens.

This year ,Wade's head is on the chopping block, but, his fate is in his own hands. He started calling the defensive plays mid-year last season, and the defense looked more aggressive. This is what we need to compete for a chance to even make the playoff, much less win a game. You can give up 360+ points in a year and expect to win anything. It's up to the "D" to give Big D a championship.
