The Dallas Cowboys have unveiled their new party pass this year. I'm not talking about the $29 ticket to the standing room only areas at the end of each endzone in the new Cowboys Starship Stadium. No, the party pass I'm talking about is getting everyone involved in the passing game. Now that Mr.T " give me the ball or I'll cry" O isn't in town, all of our offensive weapons can be used.

Although it is just pre-season, the Cowboys' qbs have been able to spread the ball around at an average of 7.6 yds per play. Take away McGee's stats, and it jumps to 8.3. That makes for a lot of 2nd or 3rd and shorts. In two games this year, Hurd, Marty B and the newly rededicated Roy 11 have 6 catches each. Witten has 4, Crayton and rookie hopeful Ogletree have 3 apiece, along with Felix the cat. The other rb's have 2 catches. And even some fb I don't know has been involved with a couple himself. Hmm, how are we gonna replace Mr.Ego? How about with players that buy into the team concept that winning is more important than personal stats.

Don't worry about the big play every time. You usually don't win a game on one play. With the advent of the "Cover 2" defense, teams are taking away the deep ball. Take what they give you. Beat 'em with the short stuff. Getting 8.3 yds isn't too bad. That is a 1st down every other pass.

This is the kind of passing party that can get you deep into the playoffs. When everyone is on the same page, and all the weapons are used, you don't really need a #1 wr.
