DALLAS, Texas - The Dallas Cowboys released LB Dexter Coakley, an 8-year veteran. A 3rd-round draft pick by the Cowboys in 1997, Coakley earned the starting weakside LB job as a rookie and finished in the top 3 on the team in tackles all 8 seasons.

Despite splitting playing time with Bradie James in 2004, Coakley finished 3rd on the team with 91 tackles. A 3-time Pro Bowler, Coakley ranks 4th in Cowboys history in tackles with 1,046.
